Manuela Maria Menendez, Psy.D.

Dr. Manuela Menendez is a licensed psychologist. She offers individual, couples and family psychotherapy and counseling. Her specific areas of training and expertise include: adolescents, chronic illness, the elderly, and the GLBTQQ community.

Manuela Maria Menendez, Psy.D. received her doctoral training in clinical psychology at the Wright Institute in Berekely, California. During her time in Northen California, she worked as in intern counseling inmates in the Solano County Jail. She went on to spend another year working with individuals, couples and families in the LGBTQQ community at New Leaf Clinical Services in San Francisco, a specialized  mental health center dealing only with with the LGBTQQ population. Then, she spent a year training at Laguna Honda Hospital where she learned how to work with the chronically ill and their specific mental health needs. At Laguna Honda Hospital, Dr. Menendez also learned the implications of illness one's behavior and other aspects of neuropsychology.  Her internship consisted of a two year intensive training in psychoanalytic psychology and it's application to community mental health. At Access Institute for Psychological Services in San Francisco, California, Dr. Menendez honed her skills working with low income adults who had psychological, behavioral and substance abuse issues. Upon completing her internship, She spent another year training in Access Institute's Geropsychology Program at Bayview Hunter's point where she focused on working with the elderly and their specific and individualized psychological needs. During this time, she also maintained a successful private practice in San Francisco, California. Dr. Menendez completed her post-doctoral hours at the American Psychological Association's accredited Citrus Health Network Inpatient SIPP unit, where she gained knowledge and experience  working with adolescent boys using a behavioral health model. Currently, Dr. Menendez works with individuals, couples, families and parents in her private practice in Coral Gables, Florida.
